Distance Learning Center In Your ClassroomIN YOUR CLASSROOM

Visit the French Creek Nature Center – without leaving your classroom!  Through the media of Distance Learning via video conferencing, your class can interact with a Lorain County Metro Parks Naturalist who will provide a unique learning experience through a variety of images, video clips, sounds, artifacts, manipulatives, games, and hands-on activities!

In order to participate in Distance Learning, your group must be able to have access to a two-way audio/video conferencing system operating at a speed of 256K or higher.  A Test Call, scheduled alongside the program and performed on a date prior to the program itself, will ensure that the connection can be made between the two facilities.

Successful Distance Learning Programs involve interaction between the presenter and the audience; for this reason and based on our past experience, we request that your group size be limited to about 30 students to allow for maximum interaction between the two sites. Each program runs approximately 45 minutes.  There is no charge for programs to groups within Lorain County; programs are $40 each for those outside the county.  Sites connecting to the French Creek Nature Center incur all long-distance phone charges that may apply during the duration of each call.

To schedule a Distance Learning Program, submit an Online Distance Learning Reservation Request, or call the French Creek Nature Center at (440) 949-5200 or 1-800-LCM-PARK.
