Day's Dam day use area at East 31st & Norfolk Avenue
Lorain From Sheffield Lake: Take Rt. 301 south to French Creek
Rd., turn right (west). Take French Creek Rd. to East River Rd. and turn
left. Go a short distance and turn right onto E. 31st St. drive over the
bridge. The parking lot is on the left, just before Norfolk Ave.
From Avon Lake: Take Rt. 83 south to Rt. 254 (Detroit Rd.) and
turn right (west). Take Rt. 254 to French Creek Rd. and turn right. Take
French Creek until it dead-ends into East River Rd. and turn left (south).
Drive a short distance, then turn right onto E. 31st St. Go over the bridge,
the parking lot is on the left, just before Norfolk Ave.
From Amherst, Vermilion (to Day's Dam): Take Rt. 2 east to the Rt. 57 north exit. Continue on Rt. 57 past 254 to E. 31st St. Turn
right onto E. 31st St. The park entrance is approx. 6 blocks down on 31st
St. on the right just past Norfolk Ave.
From Elyria: Take Rt. 301 (Abbe Rd.) north to Rt. 254. Turn left.
Take Rt. 254 to East River Rd. Turn right (north). Take East River Rd
to E. 31st St. Turn left onto E. 31st St. Drive over the bridge. The entrance
is on the left just before Norfolk Ave.
High Meadows Picnic Area & Bur Oak Picnic Area
From LaGrange, Carlisle Township, Penfield: Take State Rt. 301
north to State Rt.10 east. Take Rt. 10 to Rt. 57. Take Rt. 57 north to
West River Rd., near Midway Mall. Turn right onto West River Rd. Go about
one mile to Ford Rd., and turn right onto Ford Rd. (If you pass Midway
Mall before finding Ford Rd., you've gone too far.)The entrance to the
High Meadows Use Area will be first. The entrance to the Bur Oak Use Area
is about a 1/2 mile further on Ford Rd.
From Vermilion: Take Rt. 2 east to Community College exit (Rt.
254/Rt. 301 exit). Turn left off exit ramp onto Rt. 254. Take Rt. 254
to Gulf Rd. (is called East River Rd. on north side of Rt. 254) just before
the bridge. Turn left onto Gulf Rd. and then right onto Ford Rd. The entrance
to the Bur Oak Use Area will be first. The entrance to the High Meadows
Use Area is about 1/2 mile further on Ford Rd.
From Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield: Take Rt. 254 west to Gulf Rd.
Turn left onto Gulf Rd. and then right onto Ford Rd. The entrance to the
Bur Oak Use Area will be first. The entrance to the High Meadows Use Area
is about 1/2 mile further on Ford Rd
