General Guidelines
Public Meeting Rooms
The Lorain County Metro Parks is pleased to make meeting rooms available to the public. Although these rooms are primarily for park-related activities, non-partisan, non-profit community groups are welcome to use these rooms free of charge. We also welcome your birthday party, family reunion or reception (Fee required - See Fee Schedule).
For more information and reservations, please call the park facility of your choice as seen below.
When meeting rooms are not being used for park related activities, they may be used for educational, recreational, social and cultural programs benefiting the citizens of Lorain County. We request that there be no selling or taking of collections or orders of any kind. Use of meeting rooms is not permitted for activities that relate directly to the campaign of individual political candidates or ballot issues. The use of meeting rooms for non-profit groups is free. You may be asked to provide your Code of Regulations to verify your non-profit status. Other groups should see the fee schedule for applicable fees. Groups are expected to perform "clean-up" before leaving. If the facility manager finds the clean-up inadequate, the group will be denied future use of the facilities.

Please note:
*This facility will be on hold for your specific group for the requested time
period. When making the reservation please indicate the time your will be arriving
and departing. The facility will be opened for your scheduled arrival and departure
times only, not the entire 4 hour time period. Thank You.
Room Capacities: Room capacities may change
due to your request for a certain room configuration. Tables and chairs provided;
all other equipment must be provided by room user.
How To Reserve Rooms
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Only phone reservations or walk-in reservations are accepted.
- We ask that groups do not request these facilities on Friday, Saturday
or Sunday evenings, when facilities are normally closed.
- Groups are required to do clean-up. (Fee or no-fee groups)
- We request that groups leave promptly at closing time.
- Park District audio-visual equipment, coffee pots, etc. are not available
for group use.
- Groups may reserve on a monthly basis. Groups are not scheduled weekly.
Fee Schedule
Rooms shall be reserved in the following 4 hour increments. *
- 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Meeting Room Guidelines
- Meeting activities must not interfere with normal park district operations. Noise and disorder disturbing park visitors will not be tolerated.
- Only an adult individual may make the reservation, and must supervise and take responsibility for the preservation of order and the sole and exclusive liability for any injury of persons, and damage to, or loss of property that may result from the use of a park district meeting room. An adult shall be present at all times.
- Use of tobacco products and alcohol are not permitted. Groups must follow the rules and regulations of the Lorain County Metro Parks.
- The name, address or telephone number of the Lorain County Metro Parks may NOT be used as the contact address or headquarters of any organization.
- The use of meeting rooms by a non-park group shall not imply park district sponsorship of any of the group's activities unless the activity is being cosponsored by the Metro Parks.
- Animals are not permitted in the Metro Park facilities unless permission of the Director has been received. (Birds in cages permitted). Animals trained for the assistance of individuals are permitted.
- Food is permitted in the facilities, however, the group is responsible for clean-up and they must provide their own equipment.
- Storage of equipment or supplies for groups will not be permitted.
- The Park District's telephone numbers may not be used by any non-park related group for any purpose. Except in the case of an emergency, no phone calls for members of any non-park group will be handled by park staff. Outgoing calls may not be made for any non- park related organization. A pay phone is available at the French Creek Nature Center, Carlisle Visitor Center, Vermilion River Reservation Carriage Barn and the Sandy Ridge Reservation P.F. Johnson Wetland Center.
- The meeting rooms may not be used for any meeting or function designed to financially benefit any individual profit or non-profit institution at the time of the meeting or in the future. They may not be used, for instance, as "sample" meetings designed to attract the public to other events, courses, etc. that will incur a cost to participants.
- No items may ordinarily be sold unless for the benefit of the Lorain County Metro Parks or Friends of Metro Parks in Lorain County, Inc. with out permission of the Director. Groups, may, however, recover the cost of materials, supplies and refreshments. Arrangements for such fees have to be approved at the time of the room booking.
- All signs, posters and advertisements, must have prior approval by the Public Information Office before posting in any facility or area. No hand-lettered signs may be posted in any facility. All signs must be removed by the end of the permit period.
- Children accompanying adult users of meeting rooms shall not be left unattended in the facility.
- Reservations should be made at least four weeks in advance. Notification of cancellation should be given 24 hours in advance when possible.
- Tables and chairs are available for groups use. Set up will be handled by park staff if specifications are made known at the time of reservation or at least 5 days prior to the reservation.
- The rooms will be available to groups for the time reserved. Please take into account any prep time and clean up time when making the reservation.
